FCC Christmas Party

Thursday, 11 December 2008

Last night we attended the FCC (Families with Children from China) Christmas Party at Royal Buffet. Wren had a great time and it was fun to see everyone. Santa Claus came for a visit (he was from China too) and all the kids sat on his lap and got a little present.

We were so proud of our little Wren. She did such a good job singing all her songs!

Deck the Halls

This was Wren's first year to pick out a Christmas tree. Our first Christmas together (2006), we came home to Huntsville so Wren could meet all of her extended family and my mom put up a cute little mini tree for us in our house.

Our second Christmas (2007), we stayed in Italy and put up a smallish artificial tree because, for some reason, live trees were expensive and hard to come by.

But finally, we are back in Huntsville and this time (2008) we went to the farmer's market and picked out our tree together for the very first time!

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY!

Our little girl turned three years old on Monday, November 24th, 2008. Oh, how time flies!

Wren had a great time at her very first real birthday. We had a farm themed party at our house on the afternoon of Saturday, November 22nd. Wren talked about it and talked about it for months before her party and now that it's come and gone, she's STILL talking about it! Thank you to all our friends and family that helped make Wren's birthday special.

Flashback - On Wren's first birthday two years, we had only just days before arrived back home in Italy from our 3-1/2 week marathon adoption trip to China and Hawaii.  Here's a video of Wren from that time.  We had been a family for just under one month.

Wren's Playhouse

Brian (godfather), Patrick (unlce) and Jason

Wren's birthday present was a backyard playhouse. It was a 4 hour project that took almost 8 hours! Wren is lucky enough to have a loving Daddy, a wonderful godfather, and a fun uncle who all worked together to make sure Wrennie Roo had a really special present for her third birthday!

Last Day at Disney
Magic Kingdom

Our last day at Disney was spent at Magic Kingdom. We visited Tomorrowland and Adventureland and Frontierland and rode the Disney Express train around the park. We also took a couple of more hundred rides on Goofy's Barnstormer Roller Coaster!

Florida Trip Day 5 - Disney's Epcot Center

Wednesday, 12 November 2008

Epcot

Epcot seemed really rushed and it rained on us. But we enjoyed the rides. We just didn't have enough time over in the world showcase. On of our favorite things was the interactive Turtle Talk show with Crush from Finding Nemo. All three of us really enjoyed it but after it was over Wren cried because Dude (Wren's name for Crush) never talked to her. He was mostly talking to the older kids. Of course we made the China Pavillion a priority and Wren really enjoyed the Chinese acrobats.

Are we having fun yet?

YES WE ARE!

Magic Kingdom, Fort Wilderness and Mickey's Christmas Party

Magic Kingdom
Today was Magic Kingdom Day and we had a plan to visit just a couple of sections as we would be coming back for a second day on Thursday. Our first very first ride was Snow White's Scary Adventure. True to it's name, it was to scary for Wren and she got off crying. We quickly hustled over to the Dumbo ride which made her feel much better! But the ride she liked best here was It's a Small Word. The line wasn't long so we went on it about 3 times. By the third ride, it wasn't quite so charming for me anymore!

Tigger and Pooh Bear got a big hug!

Wren played in Pooh's house.

And she crawled through his honey jar!

We all know jason is the REAL monkey.

Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride

The teacups were a hit.

It's a Small World was a favorite.

We spotted the Chinese word for goodbye at the end of It's a Small World.

Fort Wilderness
In the afternoon we went back to Fort Wilderness (with a pit stop for a pony ride) for a bit of a rest since we had tickets for Mickey's Christmas Party that evening.

Mickey's Christmas Party
The Christmas Party was so much fun! There were special Christmas shows and parades and free cookies & hot chocolate. Plus, there were not many people on the rides so Wren go to go on her favorite, Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster, over and over without getting off!
