Since we were in China on Wren's first Halloween and Italy on Wren's second Halloween, this year was the first time she was able to trick-or-treat. She was really excited about it and we practied knocking on the door and saying "trick-or-treat!" And, of course, she loved getting candy!

Happy Family Day
Today was our 2nd family day and we commemorated it with a day of fun. Jason took the day off and we started it off by jumping at Pump It Up. Then it was out to the UAH Library where we visited some of our friends. We had a yummy lunch at Steak-n-Shake but by then Wren was starting to fade so we went back home for a nap. After nap time, we headed down (in costume) to the library Halloween carnival and finally wrapped up the day with dinner at Ding How II.
Jason also donated money to our local public radio station so all day a spot ran celebrating our big day. It's hard to believe that two years have passed by so quickly!
Then...

Boo at the Garden
Mommy went to see her friend Caroline in Atlanta this weekend, but Daddy and Sandy took Wren to the Halloween carnival at the Botanical Garden.

Hey, those are MY ears!

Harder than it looks.
Wanna see what I got?
Cutie Patootie!
And they wrapped it up at Daddy's favorite Mexican place...
Bandito Burrito!
Meanwhile, in Atlanta, Nash celebrated his 2nd birthday!

Botanical Garden Scarecrow Trail
Jason had the day off so we started out at the Botanical Gardens because we wanted to see the Scarecrow Trail. There were lots of really neat scarecrows and we even learned so scarecrow facts. For instance, did you know that three thousand years ago the first instance of a scarecrow in recorded history was along the Nile River to protect wheat fields from flocks of quail?
Wren looks like a witch stirring her cauldron.

The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe
Frog and Toad
This one reminded me of Sissy
A neat dragon (or alligator...or dinosaur?)
This was the scariest scarecrow. Kind of gave me the creeps.
My favorite because it is from one of my favorite movies!

A Chinese Fringe Tree.
I'm not sure what kind of bush this is but I liked it.
It had beautiful, showy berries!
