Play Date

Wren had a play date today with her friend Luna. Luna is just 2 months younger than Wren. I remembered Luna and her mom from the FCC events but we ran into them again at the doctor's office when Wren got her head stitches. Wren and Luna were just playing away while we were all waiting to be called back. Wren forgot all about her head ouchy. Then when we were coming out of the office, Wren was screaming her head off. Little Luna was also leaving and she came over and patted Wren and told her not to cry and that it would be all right. What an empathetic little girl she was! Anyway, the girls played so well at the doctor's office that Luna's mom and I scheduled a play date at Kid's Kingdom in Madison. A good time was had by all!

St. Patrick's Day

We went down to the Courthouse Square for the St. Patrick's day parade. We made sure to where our green so we wouldn't get pinched!

Our pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Tucson, AZ

We were long overdue for a visit with Jason's sister Jessica and her husband John. We hadn't seen Jessica since Christmas 2006 and Wren had never even met John! Jason's brother Patrick flew out too since he was on spring break from Auburn. It was a quick trip, but we had a nice time. Wren loved her Aunt Jess and Uncle John and their little dog Dharma. Clover the kitty smartly stayed out of the way most of the time.

Fisher Price LIttle People

Here is Wren playing with some old school Fisher Price Little People. These were some of my favorite toys when I was a kid. I could play with them for hours! The new ones are just dumb looking so I went on ebay and bought Wren a few of the old kind.

I thought Wren did a very good job of setting the scene. But it looks like the elephant killed the people before it was corraled.

The dumb new kind.

Happy Year of the Ox

This year, Chinese New Year was on Monday, January 26th. Chinese New Year is celebrated as the symbol of spring's celebration. In fact, in China, the Chinese New Year is still called the Spring festival. It is celebrated after the fall harvest and before the spring planting season. The date of the Chinese New Year is always changing and is dependant on the Chinese calendar.

This is the The Year of the Ox. "The Ox symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work. Those born under the influence of the Ox are fortunate to be stable and persevering. The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character. Not many people could equal the resolution and fearlessness that the Ox exhibits when deciding to accomplish a task. Ox people work hard without complaints at work or at home. They know that they will succeed through hard work and sustained efforts, and do not believe in get-rich-quick schemes."
Not only did Wren get to celebrate Chinese New Year with the other families from the FCC group, but her sweet preschool teacher, Mrs. Cindy, also had a little special party in celebration of the holiday!

For our family celebration, we had Chinese dinner at home. Jason stopped and picked up Chinese takeout and Lee Anne set the table with all the Chinese plates. It was a fun night and Wren really enjoyed it.

Wren always likes the entertainment.
